FOOD FOOD FOOD!

AS WORK - GLUTTONY
This is some of the fine art work I did last year. The topic we were given was 'Mystery and Imagination'.I began by looking at MPD/ The 7 sins but by the end of my project I'd developed on to having a main focus on gluttony.I really enjoyed this body of work, probably because of my love of food!

Focusing on gluttony I started with this painting of a skittles packet, in my usual loose painting style. However this painting hardly seems to represent 'gluttony' so I began to move on to more indulgent subject matter such as a mixed media piece I did using cream cakes (and a cookie made out of sand!). This is how I developed into using McDonald's for my controlled exam piece. I'd watched Supersize Me - an incredible documentary by Morgan Spurlock - which had really inspired me to look at this popular fast food chain. I bought a huge meal to create a still life to photograph and to emphasize the effects of such gluttony I changed some of the slogans and wording on the packaging. For example, 'Heart attack Heaven' and 'Triple Play. Triple your chances of getting CHD'.
